Fundación Dequeni (Ciudad del Este, Paraguay)

Support: 2010 and 2011

The Fundación Dequení is a NGO established in Paraguay carrying out programmes for children, families and communities in situations of extreme poverty. In 2009, they attended to some 6,250 children and adolescents, and over 2,000 families in Paraguay. Dequení’s support covers mainly education (school, recreational activities and parenthood training), health (with a special focus on nutrition) and dental care, family support and participatory community involvement. They operate 26 projects in 10 different locations in the country. The one relating to our grant is located in Ciudad del Este, in the East, where they care for 140 children.

Our support is given in close association with Puma Energy in Paraguay. The Puma Energy staff regularly undertakes initiatives in favour of Dequeni, bringing additional resources which will be matched by the Foundation. Furthermore, several employees participated in concrete activities for the children.

Floods (Namibia)

In response to the recent declaration of a State of Emergency in the northern and north-eastern parts of the Namibia, Puma Energy Namibia donated a total of US$21,400 to the relief operations after the major floods in the country.
