ESSOR (Beira, Mozambique)

Support: 2010 to 2013

This project, started in 2010 under a 3-year funding agreement. This project supports urban social development in the poorest districts of Beira, one of Mozambique’s biggest harbour cities. ESSOR, a French development non-profit organization has been present in Mozambique for almost a decade, focusing on the following objectives:

- Improving access to education through pre-primary educational programmes for 750 three- to six-year old children and social-skills development programmes for some 2,500 teenagers;

- Improving health through better access to clean water, healthier environment and practices for over 3,000 families;

- Building capacity of the civil society through the provision of organizational and institutional support/coaching for local community-based organizations.

Namibia Floods

In response to the recent declaration of a State of Emergency in the northern and north-eastern parts of the Namibia, Puma Energy Namibia donated a total of US$21,400 to the relief operations after the major floods in the country.
