Executive Committee

The Puma Energy Executive Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate strategy, strict adherence to codes of corporate governance and, as part of day to day management, the maintenance and promotion of health, safety and environmental codes of practice.

The team is comprised of industry professionals with a broad range of sector experience.

  • Pierre Eladari, Chairman and acting CEO of Puma Energy

Pierre joined Trafigura in 2004 and was appointed Chairman of Puma Energy in 2008. Within Trafigura Pierre acted as Head of the Oil Asset division and led the carve out process of that division to become Puma Energy. Prior to joining Trafigura, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group. Earlier, he was employed by Elf in a variety of roles internationally within the downstream and trading divisions. Mr Eladari holds an Engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and an Engineering degree from Ecole des Mines de Paris.

  • Denis Chazarain, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Denis joined Puma Energy in 2008 as CFO. Prior to that he worked in a variety of finance roles at Total’s  downstream business, Brambles, then for Addax Oryx Group as CFO and then General Manager of their downstream operations. Before joining Puma he also worked as CFO for Vallourec’s Oil and Gas division. Mr Chazarain holds a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne and a Master degree from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris.

Robert Jones, Head of Strategy and Investments

Robert joined Trafigura in 2002 as a manager within the structured finance division, before becoming a project and investment manager within the oil asset division. He was appointed Head of Investment and Strategy for Puma Energy in 2009. He previously worked for Arthur Andersen, Deloitte & Touche and the Commonwealth Development Corporation in a variety of roles within finance, mergers and acquisitions. Robert graduated with first class Honours from Cambridge University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales - ICAEW).

 

Duncan Armstrong, Global Head of Storage

Duncan joined in 2009 as Manager for Trafigura and Puma Energy’s global storage and supply business. He has previously worked for independent refining company, Petroplus. His previous experience includes working as a supply trader for Elf in the UK, and as a Refinery Process Engineer at Elf’s Milford Haven refinery in Wales. Duncan holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University, UK.
